If you could choose just one factor that makes life more enjoyable or interesting what would it be? I personally believe it would beSerendipity. Just imagine: we as a human race live our daily lives with each passing moment not really knowing what the next moment will bring. Sure we all try to plan our next moves as much as possible, but life is not constant. The ebb and flow of life creates myriad events that affect us on a personal and global level. Take for example a teenage boy wanting to surprise his girlfriend with flowers but didn’t have the money; he wished for money. |

"Forgiveness is to set a prisoner free, and to realize the prisoner was you."~Corrie Ten Boom, Christian woman & Holocaust survivor. It has been an interesting few weeks for me being that I just celebrated a birthday in March. The month surrounded me with love, laughter, visitors, well-wishes and great healing. I found it most interesting that the theme of my birthday month was “healing” and “forgiveness”. I had a solemn and wonderful visit with a great Kabbalah teacher, Gahl Sasson |

When asked about my female role models, I usually answer with folks like Hillary Clinton, Mother Teresa, Princess Diana, and Vernā Myers among many of those who have displayed strength, integrity, and fortitude in the wake of crises; also because their passions broke through the norm and created positive change for various reasons. I was asked this question recently, but my answer was anything but typical; instead I noted a woman closer to my heart than any other –Pilar Pilapil. So who is she? |

“True unconditional love tears through the frail fabric of mortality. Life can come and go as quick as the wind, but love survives the test of time. A heart full of love will always be remembered.” ― Gregory E. Sapp
The quote above could be used to describe true unconditional love or one’s mortality. I choose to use the latter as this blog references the inevitable event of our own physical death – something I rarely think about. Last Sunday, as I was driving along one of Bethesda’s many beautiful neighborhoods, I spotted a sign for an Estate Sale. |

The “N” word – a short, yet absolute volatile word enough to cause destruction, physical harm, killings, vandalism, and other negatively charged actions. Many have debated about the use of the “N” word: whether or not its use is appropriate, or if it should even be used; if so then by whom and in what context. My blog on this subject is not intended to add to the debate. I am not going to cite any reference work or quotes; not going to weigh in on the pro and con arguments; not going to conduct a literature review. |

I have recently reconnected with a childhood friend from 30 years ago. We were very different then. I was the shy one and she was the extrovert. The roles seem to have reversed as we grew older, but in spite of that, our bond seems to be deepening. We both have gone through trials in our lives. She a divorce and I a bad breakup. Also, about 2,000 miles separate us. I feel good vibrations, and hopefully our relationship can transcend into something more. I feel very strongly that she is The One. Will we overcome our obstacles and end up together soon? |

In the early morning hours of Friday, February 17th, a tractor trailer and Camaro collided on 495-East near Chevy Chase in Maryland. The Camaro burst into flames and one fatality was reported. The crash was quite awful that it backed up traffic for several miles & hours from the time it occurred at approximately 3am; this on a very busy freeway and on a Friday, nonetheless. I was not aware of the crash when I decided to get on the road at 6:45am --headed to Baltimore in what I thought would be an easy early morning drive. |
